Volunteer Program
Westman Immigrant Services has a popular and well-recognized volunteer program that helps newcomers and Canadians build friendships and a stronger community together. With your help, newcomers can take steps to successfully adapt and integrate into Canadian society.

As a settlement partner, you will be matched with a newcomer. Volunteers can provide newcomers with friendship and support.

- accompany people shopping or to appointments
- give EAL students an opportunity to practice English
- help teachers and students in the classroom
- learn about other cultures and share their unique Canadian perspective
- build cross-cultural, leadership, advocacy and problem-solving skills
- gain greater awareness of global issues, racism, diversity, social justice and human rights
- obtain experience for future careers in teaching, international relations, tourism, etc.
