Settlement Services
Our Settlement Facilitators help individuals and families:- learn about living in the community
- find out about services in the community and how to access them (health care, education, banking, legal, daily living, housing)
- fill out forms and complete documents (Manitoba Health Card, SIN, child tax benefits, travel documents, Citizenship)
- understand immigration issues and applications
When you first come to the office you will meet with an Intake Worker. The Intake Worker will ask you for information and refer you to the services and supports you need.
Please have the following documents with you during your first visit to the office:
- Your passport
- A permanent resident card
- A Provincial Nominee letter of approval
Services are available in English, Spanish, Amharic, Mandarin and Tagalog.
Orientation & Workshops
The Brandon Entry Program is a four-week settlement orientation for all newcomers to the Westman area. Topics include getting to know the community, health, laws and the legal system, and education and employment.
Registration: weekly
Schedule: Monday - Thursday (times vary, check with the office)
Westman Immigrant Services also offers specialized workshops of interest to Newcomers. Visit the office for more information or schedule of upcoming workshops.
