Brandon Community Language Centre (BCLC) is a client driven organization. BCLC interpreters are available to work in any situation where a need for interpretation exists. Our interpreters have passed nationally recognized language tests and have passed the Community Interpreter Training Program which prepares them for their role as a professional interpreter. Our interpreters are trained to provide accurate spoken communication between limited English speakers and service providers, businesses and individual clients. They are confidential and impartial and adhere to the BCLC code of ethics and standards of practice of interpretation. By hiring a certified interpreter through BCLC you can be assured of professional service. Working with a trained interpreter also allows family members or friends, who might otherwise be asked to interpret, stay in their role of a caregiver, advocate or supporter.

Cost:
- $25.00 per hour, charged on an hourly basis (all interpreter bookings through the BCLC will be billed in one hour blocks. Therefore if you have an appointment that runs for 1 ¼ hours, you will be billed for 2 hours).
- Other service options:

- Afterhours request - information about the booking process for afterhour appointments will be provided at the service providers’ request. Please contact the BCLC Coordinator at 727-6031 ext 2229 or email: lang.centre@mymts.net for more information.
An invoice for service will be mailed to you from Westman Immigrant Services on behalf of the BCLC. Payment is due upon receipt and interest will be charged on any overdue accounts after 30 days. Please respect our request for prompt payment, so that we can ensure timely payment to the interpreters.
Cancellation/Rescheduling:
The majority of BCLC interpreters provide interpretative services in addition to being employed elsewhere in the community. Therefore it is critical that the BCLC inform interpreters of any changes to their schedules in a timely manner.

- If an appointment is cancelled with one full business day or more notice, there is no charge.
- If an appointment is cancelled with less than one full business day notice, you will be billed a fee equal to the booked time.
Translation Services:
The BCLC currently offers only spoken language interpretation services. Any inquiries regarding written translations should be directed to Westman Immigrant Services @ 727-6031.
